Has anyone else ever been at The Orleans, walked out the door, noticed the spires of NYNY off in the east and thought, “I want a double-double animal style and In-N-Out is closer than NYNY, and it is so Vegas close I can just walk to it?” No? Had you decided yes, set out for “quality you can taste,” and spent 15 minutes lumbering down West Tropicana Boulevard; on your way you would have come across Wild Wild West Gambling Hall. Known for many of the sketchy esoteric amenities valued by the DECAGONATHON crowd, this respite from the heat on West Tropicana was an obvious drive by gambling stop on the way to In-N-Out. Not quite Ellis Island fancy and nowhere close to Aztec Inn scary, Wild Wild West was a little oasis of air conditioning and “professionals” on the hot trail to burger satiation. It will be missed, at least the next time I decide walking from The Orleans to IN-N-Out is a good idea.
