Grab a parlay card, fill in 10 bubbles, bet $1 and get a giant return on your win? Yes please. Sports parlay cards are one of the best ways to keep your action going for more than the 3 seconds the reels are spinning. We all know something about sports, so we already have an edge! Who can’t pick a few winners! The best part is for DECAGONATHON it’s not required to even place a bet, you just turn in your parlay card for points.

Game Rules

Since DECAGONATHON doesn’t last forever, each year the games included in this competition will be determined by the Competition Council in time for all players to complete their cards before the first game included in the parlay. The included games allow time for the last game to complete in a timely manner.

Gameplay:

  • There will be a set number of professional sports events in the parlay (10 in the example below)
  • Each player will select the outright winner of each event (no line)
  • Each player will assign each event a score from 1 to the total number of games on the card, using each value only once
  • Each player will receive the assigned points for correct predictions
  • Ties will award points to both teams
  • The Competition Council will inform all players of the sporting events and gather entries at least a few days before DECAGONATHON begins

Tie Breaker:

In the event of ties, the tie for 1st will be broken by working through all tied players cards starting with the highest assigned value and add points until one of the tied participants has a higher score. For example, on the card above the player chose the Cowboys as 10-point team. Assume tied player 2 chose the Jets as their 10-point team and the jets lost. Player 1 has 10 points, player 2 has zero. Player 1 wins.

In the example above let’s assume the Jets won and player 2 has 10 points. We then go to the 9 point game and recalculate, working down the list until we have a winner. In the event we have multiple perfect or exactly matching cards, full points will be awarded to the tied contestants.

If there is a tie for first, a fistfight or dance off will determine who get’s the medal. Method determined by the other contestants.
